The first adaptation, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, was released on March 19, 2010 and has grossed over $63 million at the Box Office in the USA, and the novel has sold over 28 million copies. That film hits the big screen in the UK on August 27, 2010.
The upcoming second live-action adaptation is about Greg Heffley, his older brother Rodrick, and the school talent show. If the film does well at the box office, it is likely 20th Century Fox will continue the series.
